Welcome to the home of Ryle Speech and Debate! 

The word forensics might conjure up thoughts of CSI and Law and Order.  Although coached by a biology teacher, the field of forensics (speech and debate) is something entirely different. 

Speech and debate is like academic track and field.  Members compete in a variety of events which earn points for team awards.  Events range from prepared to off-the-cuff, dramatic to informational.  There's something for everyone in the world of speech!

Famous speech alumni include Chris Colfer (Kurt on Glee), Oprah Winfrey, Renee Zellweger, and Jane Pauley.  Perhaps one day a Ryle graduate will be added to the list! 

The Ryle Speech and Debate Team proudly participates in the four leagues available in Kentucky:  Kentucky High School Speech League (KHSSL), Kentucky Educational Speech and Drama Association (KESDA), National Forensic League (NFL), and Catholic Forensic League (CFL).  Our season runs October - March.

Banquet May 10th

The end of year banquet will be held on Thursday, May 10th at 6:30pm in the media center.  Sign up to bring a dish to share.  Seniors - prepare your senior wills!  Juniors - don't forget about paper plate awards.  Families invited - let's celebrate our successful year!

WKU Speech Camp

Ryle scholarships will be given for students to attend speech camp this summer at WKU.  Applications due May 4th.  Incoming freshmen:  contact Ms. Page for a scholarship application.
